Community projects

Giving back and service are not only a priority but my passion. I believe that it is often the missing piece in business and communication. My philosophy is if you can answer the "why" then you can make an impact.

In 2014, I incorporated Hello, My Name is KING, Inc. (HMNK). The initial idea was simple, share the stories of boys and men or color, to rewrite the narrative and remind the world of their humanity, excellence, and beauty.  HMNK has grown into a movement that continues to touch people in the digital space, but also through programming and other community initiatives. HMNK's mission is to empower boys of men of color to challenge themselves, break barriers, and make a difference.  We partner with schools, mentor programs, and other nonprofits to provide sustainable programming and resources to identified groups of needs.

I am also involved in other projects throughout the U.S. and abroad. Current and previous commitments include: serving as a youth mentor, member of United Way's LINC group, literary instructor for Great Shape Superkids in Jamaica, board advisor for Hip-Hop Gives Back, a volunteer for many Hands on Atlanta's service opportunities, and regularly supported the Be the Match Foundation's 5k race and other initiatives.
